The RKC 's 2025 Training schedule has been published:


RKC 2025 Training Schedule

Here is a more detailed explanation of the training schedule for each discipline:


KENDO
Kendo Schedule at the RKC Dojo

1. Mondays, 6-8pm @ Rivonia Dojo will focus on Fitness, Skills-Development, and Kihon (Basics). This is ideal for ALL Kendo members, but especially for those new to Kendo.


2. Tuesdays, 7-9pm @ Observatory Dojo will focus on Kendo Kata, Skills-Development, and various types of Keiko.


3. Wednesdays, 6-8pm @ Rivonia Dojo, will focus on Kendo Kata and various types of Keiko.


4. Thursdays, 7-9pm @ Observatory Dojo will focus on Kendo Kata, Skills-Development, and various types of Keiko.


5. Saturdays, 8-10am @ Rivonia Dojo will be a mixed session depending on who attends. Members from both dojos are encouraged to attend.


IAIDO
Iaido Schedule at the RKC Dojo

1. Mondays 6-8pm: Fitness, Skills-Building, Kendo Kata. Kendo Kata will help develop an Iaidoka's ability to work with a partner.


2. Thursdays, 6-730pm: Instructor-Led Training


3. Thursdays, 7:30-9pm: Self-Training


4. Saturdays, 8-10am: Kendo Kata, Warmup, Self-Training


Iaidoka are encouraged to do additional training outside the dojo to build strength, stamina and suppleness! The Monday's fitness session will focus on these 3 aspects!


JODO
Jodo Schedule at the RKC Dojo

1. Mondays 6-8pm: Fitness, Skills-Building, Kendo Kata. Kendo Kata will help a jodoka with sword skills.


2. Thursdays, 6-730pm: Self-Training


3. Thursdays, 7:30-9pm: Instructor-Led Training


4. Saturdays, 8-10am: Kendo Kata, Warmup, Self-Training


Jodoka are encouraged to do additional training outside the dojo to build strength, stamina, and suppleness! The Monday's fitness session will focus on these 3 aspects!

The Ryū Ken Chi (RKC) Dojo train the traditional Japanese martial arts of Kendo and Iaido (sword-based martial arts), as well as Jodo (the art of the short staff), that encourages the cultivation of the human character.


Kendo Kid is also available for children aged 6-13 years old.


RKC DOJO has 2 training venues within Johannesburg - RIVONIA and OBSERVATORY.
